Biochemical and histological findings of rhabdomyolysis developed in both groups, without kidney damage. 3 Paraphenylenediamine may cause rhabdomyolysis resulting in acute renal failure in humans. In mice, however, it produces rhabdomyolysis, but the kidneys are not affected.
